QR codes for painters, decorators and paint estimates
Painting is a visual job, and photos sell it better than any description. A code on the estimate or the business card opens a gallery of before-and-after shots, so the customer sees the quality before they call anyone else.
A second use is the color guide: leave a card on the finished wall with a code that opens the exact paint names and codes, so the touch-up in two years uses the right shade.
This is a dynamic QR code: $3 once, and you can change where it points at any time without reprinting. How that works
What should a painter's QR code link to?
Two pages cover almost everything.
| Page | Contents | Where the code goes |
|---|---|---|
| Gallery and quote | Before-and-after photos, service area, quote form | Business card, van, estimate |
| Color record | Paint brand, color names and codes, finish, date | Card left in a cupboard or on the back of the electrical panel door |
How do I record paint colors with a QR code?
List each room: brand, color name, code, sheen and the date painted. Print the code on a small card and leave it somewhere that stays with the house. Because the page is online, you can fix an error later without reprinting.
Keep it simple for the customer: they should never have to log in or ask you.
Do QR codes work on a van or a yard sign for a painter?
Yes, when parked. Use a code at least 15 cm (6 inches) square on the side or rear, and keep your phone number large for passing traffic. On a yard sign at a job site, 20 cm (8 inches) works from the pavement.
Can I show different offers to different customers?
Use one code per placement, such as one for door hangers and one for the van, and compare scan counts on your order page. Change the page's offer without reprinting.
