Free QR code generator

Type a web address and get a QR code you can download as PNG or SVG. No account, no ads, no expiry. It runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to us.

This makes a static code: it holds your address directly and never expires, but it cannot be changed after printing.

Your QR code will appear here.

Use the SVG for printing. It stays sharp at any size.

Need to change the address later without reprinting?

A code made on this page is fixed. If your link moves, every printed copy points to the old one. For $3, paid once, we give you a code that opens a short address we host. You can change where it goes any time with a private link, and it counts scans. You also get a styling studio: choose a look and colors, and download print-ready cards, stickers, flyers and yard signs as PDFs. No account, no subscription.

Get an editable code for $3 Static vs dynamic, explained

How to make a QR code that scans

  1. Paste the full web address, starting with https://. If you leave that off, we add it for you.
  2. Check the preview, then scan it with your own phone before you print anything.
  3. Download the SVG for print or the PNG for screens and documents.
  4. Print it at least 2 cm (0.8 inch) square, dark on a light background, with some empty space around it.

Questions

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes. Make as many codes as you like and download them as PNG or SVG. There is no account, no watermark over the code, and no expiry.

Does the QR code expire?

No. A code made here holds your web address directly, so it works for as long as that address works. We are not in the middle, so there is nothing to expire or renew.

Do you see or store the address I type?

No. The code is drawn inside your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our servers.

What is the difference between this and a $3 dynamic code?

A code from this page is fixed: if your web address ever changes, you have to print a new one. A $3 dynamic code points to a short address we host, so you can change where it goes later without reprinting, and it counts scans.

What does the small text under the code say?

It says threedollarqrcode.com, so people know where the code was made. It sits outside the scannable area and does not affect scanning.

What size should I print it?

At least 2 cm (0.8 inch) square for something held in the hand, and larger for signs you scan from a distance. Download the SVG for printing, because it stays sharp at any size.
