Privacy

What we collect, and why
Your destination and name: the web address you enter, and the optional name, so your code can work.
Your email address: Stripe collects it when you pay. We use it to email you your order and, if you ask for one, a new edit link. Once your order email has been sent we delete the address from our records. We keep only a one-way scrambled version of it (a hash), so we can recognize your address if you later ask for a new edit link.
Scan counts: each time a code's page is opened, we add one to that code's count. We do not record who opened it.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment details you give it.
Services we use
We use Stripe for payments, Cloudflare to host this site and its database, GitHub to store our code and published pages (which include your destination), and Apple's iCloud Mail to send our emails. Our hosting provider processes visitors' requests to deliver pages and may log technical details, such as IP addresses, under its own policies. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Cookies
We do not set cookies on our pages. Stripe's checkout page may set its own.
How long we keep things
Your destination, name, order page, and scan count are kept for as long as your code works. Email addresses are kept only until your order email has been sent. A request for a new edit link is deleted once we have processed it, and a log that holds only a scrambled form of the address, used to limit repeat requests, is cleared within about two days.
Your choices
To ask what we hold about you, or to have your code and its data deleted, email [email protected]. Deleting a code means it stops working.
