QR codes for contractor vans and trucks
A work van sits in front of job sites and driveways for hours. A code on the side turns a parked truck into a quote request, from a neighbor who saw the work or a customer waiting for an estimate.
Pay $3 for one code that opens your quote form, your recent work, or your phone number. You can point it somewhere new later without reprinting the vehicle decal.
Why a van code does more than a phone number
A phone number on a van asks someone to remember it, or to call from the driveway. A code lets a neighbor scan it on the spot while they're still looking at the work you've done.
Many jobs start with a neighbor who noticed a truck. The code gives that neighbor a way to request a quote before they forget.
Where to put it on the vehicle
Put the code on the side panel just behind the cab door, at head height. It's the spot that stays visible when the van is parked at the curb.
- Add a second code on the rear door, centered, for drivers stuck behind you at a stop sign.
- Keep the code on a flat panel. A dented, curved, or ribbed surface distorts it, and the code won't scan.
- Stay off door seams and the spot where the ladder rack sits, which hides the code.
Send the scan to a quote form, not a homepage
The page should answer one question: can this business do my job? Put a short quote form at the top, then recent photos, your service area, and a click-to-call button.
A customer on a phone should be able to request a quote in under a minute. Every extra step loses someone who was ready to call.
Lettering that reads at a glance
Use dark letters on a light panel, and a matte finish so the sun doesn't wash out the code. A code printed in the same color as the business name is easier to find than one in a faint accent color.

Questions
Does the code work on a moving van?
The viewer scans it, so it's meant for a parked van. Don't expect anyone to scan while the truck is moving.
Can I use a magnetic sign?
Yes, if the magnet is flat and the code isn't split by a seam or a curve. Magnets are a good choice for a van you use for several jobs.
Will the code stay valid if I change my phone number?
The code opens the page you chose, so update that page with the new number. The code doesn't need reprinting.
