QR codes for gyms and fitness studios
A gym answers the same questions all day: when is the class, how do I use this machine, how do I join. A code on the wall answers each of them where the question comes up.
Pay $3 per code and put each one where it helps most: at the door, at the desk, or on the equipment.
This is a dynamic QR code: $3 once, and you can change where it points at any time without reprinting. How that works
Put the answer where the question happens
A new member standing in front of an unfamiliar machine is the best audience for a how-to video. A code on the machine opens a short clip right there, so no staff member has to leave the desk.
The same idea works at the door for the day's classes and at the front desk for membership details.
Where to place the codes
Match each code to the question people ask in that spot.
- At the entrance, a code for the class schedule and sign-up.
- On equipment at chest height, a code for a short how-to video of that machine.
- On studio doors, a code for the day's class details.
- At the front desk, a code for membership info and the waiver form.
- Use wipeable matte-laminated signs, since sweaty hands and cleaning spray are hard on paper.
What the pages should do
Keep each page short and fast. A schedule page should load without a login, and an exercise guide should be a video under a minute with two or three written tips below it.
Write the page for someone holding a water bottle in one hand and a phone in the other.
Keep it safe and simple
Anyone can scan a code, so keep private information off the pages it opens. Public pages are right for schedules and exercise guides. Use a login for anything personal, such as member records or door access.
Example signs
Each example code opens threedollarqrcode.com. Your code can open any page you choose.
Questions
Will sweat and cleaning spray damage the code?
Print on a wipeable surface such as a laminated sign with a matte finish, and test that it still scans after cleaning.
Can members scan to check in?
A code can open a check-in page, but it can't confirm who is at the gym. Use your gym software for attendance.
How many codes do I need?
One for each place a common question comes up: the door, the front desk, and each major equipment area.
