Can you change a QR code after you print it?
It depends on the type. A static code holds its address inside the pattern, so it can never change. A dynamic code points to a short address you control, so you can change where it goes without touching the print.
That is why dynamic codes are used for anything printed in bulk.
Why can't I edit a static QR code?
The address is part of the picture. Change the address and the picture changes, so any printed copy is out of date.
How does a dynamic code get changed?
The printed code points to a short address on a service. That service sends the scan to your current destination. You change the destination in the service and the printed code stays the same.
How do I change a ThreeDollarQRCode code?
Open the private edit link we email you after purchase, enter the new address and save. Scans go to the new address straight away. If you lose the link, request a new one by email on the Lost your link page.
Is there a limit to changes?
We allow up to 10 edits a day per code, which is plenty for real use.
