The cheapest way to get an editable QR code

Editable (dynamic) QR codes are priced as subscriptions, from about $60 to $350 a year for the cheapest plan that includes one, based on the pricing pages we read on October 30, 2026. Free tiers exist, with limits.

The cheapest answer depends on how many codes you need and for how long. Here is the honest comparison.

What does one editable QR code cost per year?

Among the 14 services we compared, the cheapest paid plan that includes a dynamic code ran from about $60 a year (Scanova) up to $350 a year (QR.io). A few are priced in euros or pounds, and one did not show clear prices.

Which options are free?

Hovercode (3 dynamic codes, no time limit), QR TIGER (3 dynamic codes, 500 scans each), QRCodeChimp (10 dynamic codes, 1,000 scans a month) and Quality QR (1 dynamic code) have free tiers. All of them have limits, so read them.

Where does a $3 one-time code fit?

For one code you need to keep for years, $3 once beats any yearly plan. For two to three codes with modest needs, a free tier may cost nothing at all. For lots of codes or designs, subscriptions earn their price.
